Isle of Rough Tenderness

Isle of Rough Tenderness

About 30 million years ago broke a piece of land on the French mainland, turned slowly on
its axis in the Gulf of Genoa and finally came 170 kilometers southeast of Nice to a halt:
Corsica. Those are the facts. Now, to poetry, because already the author of the Little Prince,
Antoine de Saint-Exupery, raved about the island: "Sun and Sea loved each other so many times
until she finally gave birth to Corsica." About 70 alpine peaks between 2000 and 3000 meters
altitude in the sky tower here, including such dramatic creations of nature, such as Monte d'Oro,
Monte Rotondo and Monte Cardu. Impenetrable forests and rushing streams, deep ravines,
sheer cliffs, secluded coves dream - that's the real Corsica. Where to find the most beautiful
beach? In Calvi, a small romantic fishing village on the northeast coast. Here,
the water sparkling jade green and the beach shelves gently into the sea and only a
few tourists come here. On a slope above the northern end of Lumio, the specialty restaurant
"U Fanale". Each dish is a work of art.
